DERMAROLLER FOR ACNE & SCARS
Dermarollers are used for a treatment process called micro needling or skin needling.
It is used mainly in the treatment of acne scars and pits, stretch marks, wrinkles and for skin rejuvenation.
Unlike other treatments for acne scars, stretch marks and wrinkles, dermarollers do not damage the skin or remove the epidermis layer.
Although there are no outward signs of damage, one single microneedling causes a tiny wound in the skin. You cannot see it or feel it as the damage is on a minute scale.
On a typical roller, there are 192 needles. If when using the dermaroller the skin is rolled six times (back and forth in three directions), this is over a thousand needle entries, all of which will act to stimulate the growth of new collagen fibers.
Collagen and elastin is generated and added to the existing stock of the skin. This will bulk up the thickness, creating a great look, a firmer and healthier skin.
We also use dermarollers for mesotherapy. This is a novel drug delivery system in which different types of products are injected into the deep layers of skin to treat conditions like acne, acne scars, melasma (pigmentation) and wrinkles.
Similarly, if the dermaroller is used in conjuction with a hair loss treatment (topically applied lotion) the effectiveness of the gel, cream or liquid will be massively boosted.
